What You'll Be Doing in 2012
We have Medical Missions trips arranged in three countries: Uganda, Zambia and Sierra Leone. Each trip will feature within it a 6-7 day clinical placement that will allow you to make the most of any specialist skills that you have. Throughout your trip you will work both on your own and as part of a larger team.
You will pass on your training with hands-on work, or by formal or informal teaching and instruction. Don’t worry, this occurs naturally as you work, and is far less daunting than it sounds! There will also be opportunities to observe a variety of different medically-based projects that are taking place in the region.

Mission Direct gives ordinary people the chance to do extraordinary things around the world. In two weeks you will change the lives of some of the world’s poorest people. You can help to build a house, classroom or clinic. We discover people and groups doing remarkable things in their own countries. Then we provide them the people and resources that they need. We do this by enabling people like you, with two or more weeks to join our life-altering trips.

Pass it on!
Are you an experienced medical professional? Can you spare a fortnight of your free time? The hospitals, surgeries and clinics of Uganda, Zambia and Sierra Leone want to learn from you. By sharing your expertise with other healthcare professionals you are passing on a body of knowledge that will be used to heal and even save lives, long after you have returned home. And you will gain invaluable knowledge and experience yourself.
You don’t need to be a medical lecturer, and you don’t need to be an expert in tropical diseases either. And we will find a placement for you that best suits your strengths.
