Are you an experienced teacher? Share what you have learned with untrained teachers in three African countries. Most of them have had little or no training or experience. Every day they are faced with classes of up to 80 children with virtually no resources.
They are desperate to teach to the best of their abilities and the children are keen to learn – it will help them escape poverty. Transform the way they teach by working alongside them for a fortnight – show them how to teach in small groups, how to utilise music and get the children painting and telling stories. Offer some of the world’s poorest children the best possible education and leave a lasting legacy with the teachers.
In 2012 we are planning trips to Uganda, Zambia and Sierra Leone. Each trip will feature work training teachers in six local schools, involving 1:1 trainer/teacher tutoring. You will also help to lead teacher training conferences for more than a hundred teachers. Don’t worry: if you are a trained and experienced teacher you will have plenty to offer.
This was one of the most satisfying experiences I have had in my 40 years of teaching career.

Mission Direct gives ordinary people the chance to do extraordinary things around the world. In two weeks you will change the lives of some of the world’s poorest people. You can help to build a house, classroom or clinic. We discover people and groups doing remarkable things in their own countries. Then we provide them the people and resources that they need. We do this by enabling people like you, with two or more weeks to join our life-altering trips.
